Foot Pain - Toes
Foot pain is an
uncomfortable condition that occurs in the legs. Foot pain can occur in the
heel, big toe, sore fingers, soles of the feet, and ankles.
What is toe arthritis?
Inflammation of the
foot joint is caused by inflammation of the toe joint. This disease most often
attacks the big toe, but others may be affected as well.
Injuries or trauma in
the past, such as broken or sore toes due to sprains, can cause arthritis.
Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and gout can also be the cause.
Risk factors for sore toes include:
Age increases
Overweight
Family history of
arthritis
Women who wear
high-heeled shoes for most of their lives may also be at risk of developing toe
pain.
Causes of Toe Pain
Toe pain can be caused
by a number of diseases to foot injuries, including the following:
1. Gout
Gout or gout is a form
of arthritis (arthritis), also often called gout, which can cause toe pain.
Gout crystals gather in the joints of the toes, causing the fingers to become
seriously ill and swell. The big toe is often affected.
To treat gout do the
following tips:
Rest your feet
Compress with ice
Take medication for
acute gout pain, such as colchicine , nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
(NSAIDs), or prednisone
Avoid foods that can
trigger gout worse
2. Bunion
Bunion is a bulge of
the bone along the edge of the foot, next to the base of the big toe. This is
related to misalignment of the first leg joint. Anyone can get it, especially
if they wear shoes that are not enough or uncomfortable. This often appears as
a person ages. People suffering from bunion often also have hammertoes . Try
changing shoes more comfortably or wearing shoe pad inserts. If the toes are
still painful, the doctor may recommend surgery.
2. Hammertoe
Hammertoe is when the
second, third, or fourth toes bend at the middle joint, creating a hammer-like
appearance. This can come from a muscle imbalance, but it can also be caused by
wearing shoes that don't fit properly, which are the cause of sore middle fingers.
Your doctor may
recommend that you wear shoes with deep and wide foot pads, so as not to cause
the toes to hurt. Your doctor can also provide exercises to stretch your leg
muscles. If you still have problems, you can talk to your doctor about surgery.
3 . Claw toe
Finger like claw or
claw toe is when your feet are pointing
down or up and are not able to go straight. Often this condition is the result
of nerve damage from diseases such as diabetes or alcohol drinkers, which weaken
the muscles in your legs. Without special footwear to accommodate claw legs,
you can get irritation, toe pain and calluses.
The following tips for
treating it:
Changes to footwear
that are more appropriate. Avoid high heels and tight shoes
Stretch for your toes
and toe joints
Try inserting a pad on
the shoe
Ask your doctor about
surgery
4. Ingrown toenails
Ingrown toenails are
when the skin is on one or both sides of the nail growing on the nail. This can
cause the fingers to hurt and can cause infection.
The following tips for treating toe pain and infection:
Soak feet in warm water
four times a day
Wipe with a piece of
gauze between the nails and skin that has been wet, do it once a day
If this treatment does
not work, contact your doctor
5. Toe turf
Toe turf is a toe pain
at the base of the thumb due to the removal of a ligament in the big toe joint.
Toe turf can also be a form of sesamoiditis or sesamoid fracture.
6. Sprained toes
Sprained toes are a
condition when you bend your legs and hurt your toes, damage the tendons or
soft tissues of your toes. If you don't have a fracture, the pain and swelling
will disappear within a few days.
7. Fracture of the toe bone
The fracture of the toe
bone is a condition of broken toes that can occur in one of the bones of the toes.
Small fractures may only require rest, ice packs, and take toe pain medication.
Serious fractures may require surgery. Consult your doctor to make sure.
8. Hallux rigidus
Hallux rigidus or stiff
toe is a type of arthritis (inflammation of the joints) at the base of the big
toe. Symptoms of the toes hurt and joint stiffness that worsens over time.
Treatment can include pain relief and stretching exercises. Surgery may be needed
in some cases.
9. Swelling
All types of arthritis
cause inflammation of the joints, which can cause swelling. The sore fingers
can become red and feel warm to the touch.
You may notice these
symptoms after sitting for a while, or after you get out of bed.
Swollen toes can also
make it difficult to use shoes. It is likely to feel tight until you walk for a
while and the swelling drops.
10. Heat
When inflammation
brings more blood to your toes, you may feel warmth or heat in the area of
pain in your toes. This can be a little annoying, but it usually doesn't
interfere with your daily activities. It is likely that the feet experience
redness of the skin around the joint, and may become soft to the touch.
